Abstract: After years of construction,the natural protected areas in Tibet have played an important role in protecting biodiversity,improving the ecological environment and maintaining ecological security.More than 80 percent of rare and endangered wild animal and plant species as well as important ecological resources in the region have been effectively protected.However,the overall level of management of nature reserves is not high,and problems such as weak scientific research and monitoring capabilities still exist.This paper summarizes the results of the construction of natural protected areas in Tibet during the 13th Five-Year Plan period,analyzes the existing problems,and puts forward targeted measures,aiming at promoting the establishment of natural protected areas system in Tibet and protecting the ecological safety barrier in Tibet.
