Abstract:
As a vital component of the ecological security barrier in Southwestern China, Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve possesses significant biodiversity and unique ecosystem service functions. Taking Ailao Mountain Nature Reserve as the study area, this paper analyzes the major challenges currently hindering the realization of ecological product value, including pronounced conflicts between ecological conservation and community development, underdeveloped eco-industry chains, imperfect market mechanisms, and insufficient utilization of traditional knowledge. Grounded in the concept of sustainable development and considering the ecological endowment and socio-community characteristics of the reserve, this study proposes diversified pathways for ecological product value realization, such as “Ecology + Carbon Sequestration” “Ecology + Cultural Tourism”, and “Ecology + Community” models. Furthermore, it recommends establishing safeguard mechanisms through improving policy frameworks, refining ecological compensation schemes, and promoting community co-management. The findings aim to provide a reference for achieving ecological product value in similar nature reserves.
