Abstract:
Tibet grassland area ranks first in the country, accounting for 30.29 % of the country ‘s grassland area. Xizang grassland is not only an important means of production and living for the majority of farmers and herdsmen on the plateau, but also an important basis for the high-quality development of pastoral areas. Therefore, it is extremely important to pay attention to the changes of grassland resources in Xizang. As the capital of Xizang Autonomous Region, Lhasa also has rich grassland resources. Based on the analysis and comparison of the first grassland resource census data in the 1980 s and the monitoring data of grassland base conditions in 2023 in Lhasa, this paper analyzes the grassland area, distribution, type and change characteristics of Lhasa in the past 40 years. The results show that the grassland area of Lhasa is decreasing from 1980 to 2023, and the conversion of grassland area to forest area accounts for the largest proportion. This study comprehensively found out the characteristics of grassland in Lhasa and the changes since the monitoring records, and provided data support, scientific basis and decision-making reference for the utilization, management and sustainable development of grassland resources.
