Study on rare and endangered plant communities of Dayaoshan Nature Reserve

Abstract: To investigate the plant resources of rare and endangered plant communities in Lechang Dayaoshan Provincial Nature Reserve, so as to find out the characteristics of rare and endangered plant communities in the reserve and provide basis for the protection of rare and endangered plants in the reserve. In this study, the typical rare and endangered wild plants in the Dayaoshan Nature Reserve are Taxus chinensis, Bretschneidera sinensis and Pinus kwangtungensis. In the plant community or habitat where they are located, nine-400 m2 forest biodiversity fixed sample plots are selected to monitor, and the Vascular plant resources in the sample plots are investigated. The results showed that: (1) Taxus chinensis samples were mainly large trees, with fewer young individuals and weak natural regeneration ability, indicating that Taxus chinensis var. mairei was less competitive in the community than other species, and had shown a declining trend, the top five plants with important values in the sample were Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Manglietia majus, Viburnum odoratissimum, Photinia fraxina and Eurya tenuifolia; (2) the overall community of Bretschneidera sinensis quadrat is relatively young, with the majority of middle-aged and young individuals, and the natural regeneration ability of the community is strong; (3) the overall community of the South China Five Needle Pine quadrat is relatively young, and the natural regeneration ability of the community is strong, at present, the community is a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest, which will gradually evolve into Tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests in State of nature.
