Abstract: Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China first proposed the "five-in-one" plan, the construction of ecological civilization has been gradually implemented. As an important part of the "five-inone" overall layout, the construction of water ecological civilization continues to innovate and develop under the guidance of new development concepts. The water conservancy industry took the lead in responding and actively carried out pilot explorations. As a new material, gabion cage has been widely used in the construction of water ecological civilization because of its advantages of environmental friendliness, safety, reliability and economic applicability. This paper summarizes the problems existing in the application and promotion of gabion cage, and proposes corresponding measures to make it applicable in the construction of water ecological civilization.
