Abstract: Desertification is a global problem. Due to the different characteristics of desertification and national conditions, the control characteristics, system design and technical means are different in different countries. This article introduces the current situation, harms and main causes of land desertification in Argentina, sorts out relevant policies and successful experiences and practices of desertification control, and analyzes its main problems and deficiencies. By comparing China's national conditions and the current status of desertification prevention and control, this article summarizes several enlightenments from laws and regulations, management and operation mechanisms, prevention and control mechanisms, water resources management and utilization, international compliance and cooperation, etc., with a view to providing and reference for promoting desertification control in China.
