Abstract:
Transboundary joint conservation is important in maintaining the basic functions of ecosystems, purifying the habitat of species, maintaining the population structure and numbers of species, and providing good conditions for scientific research. In the border area between Yunnan province of China and the three northern provinces of Laos, the mechanism of China-Laos cross-border cooperation on biodiversity conservation is relatively mature, and China-Laos have made remarkable achievements in the establishment of joint protected areas, professional skills training, Asian elephant conservation and cross-border patrol and monitoring. But in the long run, there are still difficulties to overcome in terms of capital, equipment and talent.
