Abstract: The ecological security of grasslands in Xizang Autonomous Region is related to the ecological security of China and even Asia. Coordinating the ecological, production and living functions of grasslands(three functions) and promoting the reasonable and efficient protection, restoration and utilization of grasslands are important measures to build a firm ecological security barrier on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, promote the well-being of farmers and herders, and maintain the stability of the frontier. By summarising the current situation of grassland ecosystem functions in Xizang and the experience and practices of the Xizang Autonomous Region,this paper analyses the problems of grassland utilisation in Xizang and further puts forward suggestions and ideas for improving the protection and restoration system, increasing policy support, optimising the spatial layout and promoting high-quality development of the grass-pastoral industry.
