Abstract: A scientific master plan system can effectively guide the construction and development of nature reserves. By summarizing the status of master plan of nature reserves in China, the paper analyzes existing problems such as paying more attention to facilities construction than capacity improvement, lacking pertinence and innovation, weak participation and coordination in preparation, paying more attention to preparation than implementation, complicated approval procedures and long approval cycle, legal construction need to be strengthened, and limited capital investment. From the aspects of improving the quality of master plan, strengthening legal and institutional development, strengthening the connection of planning, carrying out master plan evaluation and increasing capital investment, the paper puts forward suggestions to improve the master plan system of nature reserves.
