Abstract: With the improvement of people's awareness of environmental protection, the pace of sustainable forestry development in China is speeding up,and the means of forestry management are constantly updating and improving.In recent years, the project of returning farmland to forest proposed by the state has been carried out in various parts of the country.And it has achieved good economic, social and ecological benefits. With the rapid development of information technology, digital forestry technology has emerged. As the information technology of forestry resource management, digital forestry technology plays an irreplaceable role in the project of returning farmland to forest, effectively improves the quality of ecological environment, and is of great significance to the sustainable development of our national economy. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and structure system of digital forestry technology, this paper expounds in detail the application of digital forestry technology in the project of returning farmland to forest, in order to further promote the popularization and application of digital forestry technology.
