Abstract: In currently being implemented technical standards Specifications for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges,about recommended formula of earthquake soil pressure there are some limitations and mechanical errors,but in the relevant provision or specification notes the mechanical basis and logical derivation are not given.This paper starts from the basic principle of soil mechanics,the problems and limitations of deducing standards formula C.0.1-1,the influence of this limitation on earthquake soil pressure is compared by an example.The calculation and verification of seismic soil pressure in bridge design and foundation engineering design have guiding significance.
