Carbon sink potential analysis and dynamic changes of forest carbon storage in Yunnan Province during the 13th five-year plan period

  • Based on the data of forest resources monitoring in Yunnan Province during the 13th five-year plan period, the dynamic changes of forest carbon storage and carbon sink potential in Yunnan Province during the 13th five-year plan period were analyzed by using the method of forest volume conversion factor, the results showed that the forest carbon storage increased from 2.19525 billion tonnes to 2.39522 billion tonnes, the net forest carbon storage increased by 1.9996 billion tonnes, and the annual average increment increased by 0.4999 billion t.The development potential of forestry carbon sinks in Yunnan Province is estimated by the assumed unit area accumulation target method.The calculation shows that the development potential of forestry carbon sinks in Yunnan Province is huge and the 14th five-year plan goal can be achieved.
