Analysis on strategies for improving the quality of timber plantation in Dehong prefecture

  • The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Plan for Deepening the reform of the Collective Forest Rights System have provided a clear direction for cultivating for fostering forestry's new quality productive forces, with a specific emphasis on enhancing forest quality. This has created unprecedented opportunities to improve forest quality and enhance their role of forests as reservoirs of water, food, wealth, and carbon. This paper analyzes the characteristics and management status of the main timber plantation in Dehong prefecture.It adheres to ecological priority and green development while fostering forestry's new quality productive forces to ensure national timber security and increase the income of forest farmers.It is formulating forest management plans according to law, innovating forest management measures, optimizing policy incentives, attracting social capital participation, and supporting forest farmers in independently managing their forest.Furthermore, it aims to strengthen financial input and institutional guarantee while promoting sustainable forest management in an orderly and efficient manner. Respect for the wishes of forest farmers is paramount; reliance on science and technology will be key in improving forest quality and management level with a goal of achieving more beautiful ecology, storing more wood, increasing carbon sink reserves and making people rich.
