Preliminary investigation and research on the integration and optimization of nature conservation areas in Yantai city

  • on the basis of reference to the existing research results and technical specifications,we investigated and studied 62 natural conservation sites in Yantai city including four aspects:the protection of important natural resources,the overlapping of space and the protection of vacancies,longstanding problems of protected sites and the allocation of management institutions.The results show that the existing natural protection sites have basically covered the important ecosystem and main protection objects of Yantai city,but in theory,there are still 42.24×104 hm2 protection vacancies in the whole region;the overlap rate among natural conservation sites is as high as 46.16%,with inadequate institutional setup,staffing and equipment acquisition;the natural conservation area includes permanent basic farmland (14635.09 hm2),artificial collective commercial forest (24736.84 hm2),mining (28937.11 hm2),village (2144.97 hm2),town built area (83.13 hm2),open economic zone (186.89 hm2),population (106921),and the longstanding problems is very serious.It is suggested that in the later stage of promoting the integration and optimization of natural conservation sites,we should thoroughly solve the overlapping problems,properly solve the longstanding problems,scientifically evaluate the "protection vacancies", and establish an efficient and unified management organization.
